Unfortunately, water soaking and leaking through basement walls is a relatively normal thing, especially in areas that get more rain. This is because the water mainly comes through as groundwater, slowly soaking through your walls, rather than rain just pouring into the basement. This is why a basement drain like Waterguard, is such a helpful product to have installed in your home. This homeowner had this exact problem, water was not rushing in, but slowly seeping through the basement walls.
The "before" photo shows part of the basement that was heavily affected by the water intrusion. You can see the signs of the water intrusion on the left wall. Most of the white "powder" are mineral deposits caused by evaporating water, leaving behind whatever minerals were in the water.
The "after" photo shows the same area, but with our system installed. The two products that are in the picture are our a SuperSump sump pump and our Waterguard system. The Waterguard runs the length of the wall and drains to the sump pump. This keeps water from just sitting on the basement floor or walls and actually gives it a place to go. Once the water drains to the sump pump, it is then pumped outside of the home.
No one likes a damp crawlspace. But no one really wants to go in to inspect the space when it’s dirty and humid. Many crawlspaces tend to look like a deserted wasteland, and people will eventually just accept that fact. But when there’s a dirt floor in the crawlspace without a barrier, moisture issues are almost unavoidable. And having a water pump system is nice, but those moisture issues may still persist if you don’t cover the dirt floor with a sufficient material and seal the space to prevent the vapor from rising up from the dirt floor. That was the problem this home had in Fairview, North Carolina.
In this crawlspace, there is efflorescence on the cement block walls, which is the residue left behind by that sneaky water vapor. Moreover, there’s clear evidence that the space has flooded several times over the years. The dirt floor is sloping and the concrete blocks are shaded by dirt and dried water. This is problematic because as long as there is no barrier the water vapor will continue to rise into the space, making it damp and humid, leaving dried water all along the walls.
In the after picture, we’ve solved this problem completely. We’ve laid CleanSpace, which is a 20 mil thick plastic liner, to cover the dirt floor and prevent water vapor from rising into the space. We’ve also installed a Super Sump Plus, to take care of the flooding problem. Our pump contains a WaterWatch alarm system that sounds off if water rises above the point where the pump should turn on. It has a SuperLiner with 96 holes that allow water to flow in directly from below the floor and an airtight lid which keeps moisture from evaporating into the basement environment. What you see here is the finished product.
This customer had a huge problem. They were in desperate need of some kind of foundation support system to fix these huge cracks in their home. Our crew installed our FSI Push Pier System in order to fix these and it really did the trick!
The "before" picture shows a huge crack in the customer's garage. We see small cracks which can cause a problem, but we hardly see cracks that you can see through to the outside!
The "after" photo shows the same crack after we installed our Push Piers and sealed the crack. You can see just how big of a difference the push piers can make! The best things about our products are that they give each and every one of our customers peace of mind after they are installed! This goes for both preventative work and work after the problem has already arisen.
This home in Arden, North Carolina had a very damp crawlspace which was in need of a CleanSpace liner, as well as a dehumidifier and sump pump. Between these three products, a crawlspace is usually pretty protected from moisture. However, because this problem wasn't addressed soon enough, we also had to clean the mold off of the floor joists and other areas using Mold-X.
The "before" photo shows the crawlspace's condition when our System Design Specialist first arrived at the home. As you can see, there is insulation falling down and already on the ground. The unprotected and uncovered ground lets a lot of moisture enter the crawlspace. This was one of the biggest problems for this homeowner.
The "after" photo gives a great view of the same area, which just happens to be where several of the products that we installed were located. First off, you have the CleanSpace liner. This liner provides great protection and a seal to keep the crawlspace separate from the open ground. We also have the SantaFe Edge II Dehumidifier, which is another quality product we provide. The dehumidifier essentially filters the air for any moisture and keeps the relative humidity low enough that mold cannot grow. The final product in this picture, that you can't see very well is the sump pump. The sump pump takes any water that collects under the CleanSpace liner or from the dehumidifier and pumps it outside the home.
This home in Arden, North Carolina had been badly damaged by moisture in the crawlspace. They had an old crawlspace liner that was not able to give them very much protection from moisture and mold. The moisture started to soak into the insulation in the crawlspace, as the insulation got heavier and heavier, it began to sag and eventually fall down. When the homeowner noticed this happening and saw the condensation (mainly under the old liner), they decided to give us a call. We were able to help this homeowner out tremendously by encapsulating their crawlspace.
The "before" picture shows the condition of the crawlspace before any work was done. As you can see, a lot of the insulation is sagging or has already fallen. This is a common sign of water intrusion and moisture problems under a home.
The "after" photo shows off our crew's amazing installation job. As you can see, all of the insulation was taken out of the crawlspace. This is because of how much moisture was in the insulation. If it would have been left, mold would have easily grown in the crawlspace. The old liner was removed from the ground and replaced with drainage matting and the CleanSpace liner. Our crew also scrubbed down the floor joists with MoldX, which destroys any mold and prevents future mold growth.
