All-Dry of the Carolinas doesn’t always just work in basements and crawlspaces. Whenever water is becoming a problem for any part of your home, we more than likely have the drainage system that can help you!
Nothing is more annoying than living on a hill and having to deal with a stream of water when it rains. In this case, water would flow down the hill and into the garage. No one wants water puddling in their garage, especially since it is supposed to be a dry zone. To fix this problem our All-Dry team inserted a vehicle traffic drain. In usual cases, the vehicle traffic drain would be placed inside the garage door to prevent freezing. The drain would then lead to the SumpPump where it would flush out the water. This case is different than others, but its purpose of draining still works the same.
Our All-Dry crew was able to install a series of our waterproofing technology that would take care of the water issue in the crawlspace. Our crew installed a CleanSpace liner, condensate pump, and dehumidifier. When encapsulating the crawlspace with CleanSpace, it seals the area to keep moisture from creeping up from the ground and causing damage to your foundation. A dehumidifier was placed in the crawlspace as a solution to the humidity that is produced from the pipes under your house. A condensate pump was connected to the dehumidifier to pump the water from the crawlspace. Together with all these tools, the crawlspace is completely protected from moisture.
This was an average job for our crews here at All-Dry. While some homes have very serious problems with moisture and mold, many customers just want to be proactive, and protect their crawlspaces from future problems. This was one of those jobs.
The "before" photo shows the crawlspace before the CleanSpace was installed. While we can't see any standing water or obvious moisture, you can see the dirt floor, which can be a pain to work on and definitely isn't preventing mold growth!
The "after" picture shows how much nicer and cleaner CleanSpace makes your crawlspace. It makes it easier to work under the house, but what it really did for this customer is gave them piece of mind. They won't ever have to worry about any moisture or mold problems. Especially with the Santa Fe Dehumidfier which keeps any moisture out of the air!
This basement was having some problems with water intrusion around the floor/wall joints. This is a pretty common issue in basements, because it is a "weak" spot in the construction of the home. As you can see, this basement was not in the best shape, which was something that the homeowner also wanted to take care of, while we were fixing the water intrusion issue.
To help this homeowner out and solve both of their problems simultaneously, we used three products; WaterGuard Drain, BrightWall Paneling, and a SuperSump pump. These three products together provide a very good defense against water intrusion in the home. They work hand-in-hand to prevent the water from staying in the basement, by pumping it out as quickly as possible.
The crew started this project by excavating the area around the perimeter of the basement, as well as an area for the SuperSump. Once a trench was dug out around the basement, the crew began installing the WaterGuard drain, which is one of the main parts of the system. The WaterGuard is what actually catches the water and drains it to the sump pump, where it can be pumped out and away from the home. Last, but not least the BrightWall panels were installed. This not only helps to keep the water in and drained to the WaterGuard, but also makes the walls of the basement look better. They help to give the basement a more "finished" look, without the price tag of finishing a basement.
It seems like moisture, standing water, mold and mildew are all things that are supposed to be in the crawlspace. But believe it or not, this actually isn't the case! All of these things can cause damage to not only a home but also the occupants of the home. Water intrusion and high humidity levels under a home can be a very serious issue and should certainly be looked at as soon as possible.
One extremely common sign of high moisture levels are falling insulation. The insulation acts like a sponge and soaks up the moisture in the air which causes the insulation to get heavy, and begin to fall or sag. This is exactly what had happened to this homeowner who called us after their termite company had mentioned to them about the high moisture levels. There are several areas in this photo where the insulation can be seen hanging down.
The second photo shows off the crawlspace once our CleanSpace liner was installed. It completely changes both the look and function of the crawlspace. The CleanSpace changes the crawlspace from a damp, dark, and scary place in a much more inviting area. More importantly, the homeowner no longer has to worry about water getting into the crawlspace, or mold being able to grow.
