This home in Augusta, GA was experiencing major moisture issues in their basement Our All-Dry team tackled this issue head on using several different methods of our water proofing technology. After cleaning the crawlspace of debris, our team inserted the CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace is a 20 mil tick liner that is laid across the basement floor and wrapped around walls and piers. This liner works as a barrier to keep moister that is produced from the ground of the basement. In this specific case, the CleanSpace was just placed on the walls; this was to hold in moister that came from the water that dripped down the walls when entering the crawlspace. Once the CleanSpace was installed our team added a dehumidifier that would remove all moisture that is produced from under the home.
This home in Augusta had foundation issues both inside and outside. The homeowner called us when she noticed a few cracks of varying sizes on the outside of her home. There are a few photos attached that show off these cracks. As you can tell, some of them are relatively small, while others are much larger and wider. However, it wasn't just the outside that seemed to be falling apart. Since her foundation was settling and sinking, her floors began to sag since they were not being properly supported. After calling us and setting up an appointment, we had a system design specialist go out to see exactly what the problems were with her home, and what we could do to help her.
This was a relatively simple job, with pretty simple solutions. The first step of the process is to raise the home back towards its original, level position. The way that we did this was through the use of push piers. This product is secured onto the foundation of the home, while a steel beam is driven deep into the ground to a stable soil layer. Once all of the push piers have been installed and driven to the proper depth, the house is the raised back towards its original position, closing cracks and making the home more level.
The second step of repairing this home was to go under the home and install a few SmartJacks to support the floor of the home. This, again, was a relatively simple process and nothing out of the ordinary for us. Our crew installed 6 SmartJacks to support the floor. The first photo shows off a few of these SmartJacks in action. The small square of gravel below the SmartJacks is dug out so that the Jacks have support and won't shift like the dirt under the home (which caused these problems in the first place.
