Stair-Step Cracking in Basement
This is one of the more obvious places that was beginning to show signs of wall failure. Stair-step cracks are one of the more common types of cracking in basements and are usually very obvious when the begin to form. Once our Specialist noticed this, he went on to look for any other signs of wall failure.
Storage Area in Basement
This pictures shows off one of the shelving units in the basement. This shows that the homeowner used this area quite a bit and had items that could grow mold and easily be damaged by the mold. This is one of the reasons that the homeowner wanted to have this issue looked at.
Prepped Walls for CarbonArmor Straps
This picture was taken when the crew was preparing for the CarbonArmor Straps to be installed. The areas where the straps are installed are cleared off and cleaned so that the epoxy used with the straps gets a good grip on the wall.
Three Installed CarbonArmorStraps
This is what the area looked like after the crew installed some of the CarbonArmor Straps. The straps don't just stop on the wall, but go all of the way up the wall (even passed the drop ceiling) and are attached the floor joists above. This helps the straps to also have an anchor point.
Trench for WaterGuard Drain
Here is a close up of where the WaterGuard was to be installed. The crews remove just enough concrete for the drain to be installed. The bottom of the CarbonArmor Strap can also be seen in this picture. As previously mentioned, the straps are installed from top to bottom in order to provide the most support.
Crew Beginning to Install CleanSpace Wall
This picture was taken after the crew had installed the CarbonArmor Straps and had dug the trench for the WaterGuard. The crew started at the top of the wall with this CleanSpace, and worked their way down to the bottom. The CleanSpace helps to ensure that moisture cannot get into the basement and is directed to the drain instead.
Installed CleanSpace and WaterGuard Drain
Here we can see the installation of the CleanSpace wall by the crew. The crew does an excellent job with sealing up around just about everything. Even with this control board and several pipes around, the crew was able to go around every piece and seal the CleanSpace up so that no moisture would get through.
Installed WaterGuard Drain
Here is a close-up of the WaterGuard that was installed in the basement of the home. WaterGuard is an integral part of the system, ensuring that any water that comes into the basement is quickly drained to the sump pump and pumped away from the home.
Installed Basement Waterproofing System
This picture shows off the three main parts of the waterproofing system that was installed. The CleanSpace covers the wall in order to keep water and moisture in. The WaterGuard, which is in the floor around the perimeter of the room, catches this water and then drains it to the sump pump which can also be seen. The SuperSump pump can pump out over 2,600 gallons per hour.
ArmorLock System Installed
This is an important part of the installation of the CarbonArmor Straps. This shows the ArmorLock System that helps to secure the CarbonArmor Straps and help prevent further bowing. This is installed for each CarbonArmor Strap along the wall.
