Crack in Retaining Wall
Here is one of the main reasons why this homeowner called us to come out to their home. This was one of the more significant cracks along the wall, however there were many other areas along this wall that were cracking. This could be a very serious issue, but fortunately our System Design Specialist was able to figure out the perfect solution!
Cracks in Driveway
Here are some of the cracks that this homeowner had in the driveway. This is probably something that looks pretty familiar, because just about everyone has cracks in their driveway. Well we have a solution to keep these cracks from getting any worse. Part of this solution involves repairing the retaining wall, and part of it involves a newer product that you'll see later on!
Previous Repair to the Driveway
Here is another photo that shows off the damaged driveway. This area had actually gotten so bad that the homeowner filled in the area with more concrete. Obviously, this problem had been going on for awhile, but the homeowner was taking the right steps by calling All-Dry of the Carolinas.
Repaired Driveway Cracks
This shows a wider view of the driveway, where the majority of the cracks can be seen. Needless to say, there were quite a few cracks on this driveway that repaired with Nexus Pro. Nexus Pro is a sealant that is both flexible and can stand up to harsh conditions. This means it won't dry up quickly like other sealants.
Walls Anchors and Sealed Cracks
This photo shows two different things. First of all it shows off the cracks that were sealed with Nexus Pro (just like the ones that were shown in the last photo). However it also shows the areas where the wall anchors were installed. These are a few feet in the ground under the rectangles that can be seen in the garage. The other half of these can be seen in the next few photos.
Two Installed Wall Anchors
Here is what the other part of the wall anchors looks like. These are connected to another plate in the ground with a long metal rod. The crew, after connecting the different plates, then begins to tighten them. This helps to correct the position of the walls and secure it. The other great thing about wall anchors is that they are an active system, meaning that they can be tightened over time.
Several Installed Wall Anchors
This is where the majority of the wall anchors were installed along this retaining wall. The wall anchors are installed equally far apart from each other so that no one anchor has too much pressure on it. This way there is an equal distribution of weight along the entire wall.
