Crack in Garage Wall
Here is one of the cracks that had appeared in this homeowner's garage. As you can see, this is a pretty significantly sized crack. Like many homeowners, this one did not think much of it and tried to caulk/glue it back together, thinking that this would solve the problem for good. Unfortunately for him, this was not the case.
Another Crack in the Wall
Here is another part of the same wall that has several large cracks around it. As you can see, these cracks went horizontal, up, and even down. This was a situation that certainly needed wall anchors in order to help correct. The duct tape that is placed over the crack helps the crew see just how much the wall anchors were able to pull the wall back.
Outside Wall Anchor Plate
Here is what the outside wall anchor plate looks like. Unlike the ones that are installed on the inside of the home, these plates are shaped more like a lowercase "t". This is so the plate has more surface area against the soil, providing a stronger, more supportive "anchor". These holes are then refilled, so that you cannot even tell any work was done!
Row of Outside Wall Anchor Plates
Here is what the outside of the home looked like while the wall anchors were being installed. The exact location for each wall anchor is plotted out on both the inside and outside of the home, so that they will line up, when the rod is pushed through the wall they will go into the correct hole.
Almost Finished!
Here is what the basement was almost finished! There was only one more small step after this. So far, in this photo, the wall anchors had been installed and tightened as much as they could. Then our BrightWall paneling was installed on the basement wall. BrightWall helps to make the basement look better, with the added benefit of helping to keep water out of the basement.
Another View of the Installed BrightWall
Here is a picture that mainly just shows the BrightWall Paneling. This product can really transform the way a basement (or garage) looks and feels. It certainly brightened up and gave this area character from the plain cinderblock walls that were there before.
Wall Anchor Covers
This photo shows a few of the wall anchor covers that were installed in this garage. These covers help to hide the the metal wall anchors that are installed on the walls. This is even more important in a finished or semi-finished basement, because the wall anchors still need to be accessible, but no one wants to just have holes in the drywall.
Wide View of the Finished Area
While not a completely finished area, this garage was drastically transformed with just a few products. The wall anchors helped to bring to wall back together and protect it from further structural damage. Our crew also installed the BrightWall and Wall Anchor Covers, which gave this area a more "finished" look.
Installed Sump Pump
Here is the UltraSump pump system that was installed in this home's garage. The sump pump helps to keep water from sticking around in a room. When the water comes in, it moves to the lowest place in the area, which is where this UltraSump was installed. The water drains into the sump pump and is then pumped away from the home.
