Entrance to Crawlspace
This is how our crew (and all of the gear) had to get into the crawlspace. Needless to say, this wasn't the easiest thing that our crew members had ever done. However, they were able to shimmy themselves in the crawlspace and knock out all of the work!
Falling Insulation
While we only completed work for the foundation/sinking floors, this homeowner did seem to need some help with the a slight moisture problem in their crawlspace. For now, the homeowner was only interested in taking care of their sagging floors, so that is exactly what we did for them. Look out for common signs of excessive moisture in the crawlspace, like falling insulation.
View from the Crawlspace
This picture gives a pretty good view of just how short this crawlspace was. One of our crew members can be seen on the right hand-side of the photo. The clearance is so low, that he is hardly even able to turn over in the crawlspace. This made the project much more difficult, but certainly not impossible!
Installed SmartJacks
Here is one of the installed SmartJacks in the crawlspace. Above the SmartJack is a supplemental beam that was installed along with the SmartJacks. The beam helps to distribute the weight of the home onto the SmartJacks so that no one area has too much pressure on it.
Installed SmartJacks in Crawlspace
Here is a wider view of the installed SmartJacks in the crawlspace. In this photo you can see the installed jack, as well as a small glimpse of how they install them. The red hand jacks are used to raise the supplemental beam to the proper location, then the SmartJacks are installed and tightened to the beam. The most difficult part about this job was definitely digging out the holes for the SmartJacks, this was because of the tight area.
