Crack in Chimney
This is not the best angle to see the extent of the crack, but you can see how large the crack in this chimney is.
Crack from a different angle
This is the view from the other side of the chimney. You can, again, see the extent of the crack. It is a straight crack, until it gets to the left side, where it changes to a stair-step crack.
Wide Angle of Chimney
I think that this picture speaks volumes about the crack. This is a very wide view of the chimney, almost getting the entire house in the photo, and you can still see the crack, and you can see it pretty distinctively.
Another View of the Chimney and Crack
Another view of the crack in the chimney. This crack was very severe, we've seen several cracks that are this big, but it is less often than not that we see them. Usually when we get a call about foundation cracks, they are usually smaller cracks.
Push Pier Installation
This is what the crew must do to install the push piers. They must excavate the area around where the push piers will be installed so that they have the room to install the Push Piers and actually raise the foundation.
Installed Push Piers
Here are the installed push piers. There were only two that were needed to raise and support the chimney back into its proper position. Push piers can hold 60,000+ pounds. They were only installed on this corner, because that was where the most settlement was occurring.
Chimney after Push Pier Installation
The difference is absolutely amazing. You can hardly even tell that there was a crack on this chimney, let alone a huge one!
Another View of Fixed Chimney
This is an even better angle to see the change. You can see a very small crack where it used to be, and a few small gaps that stair-step on the left hand side of the chimney, but these will be filled in and hardly noticeable.
