Wet Insulation: Worst Insulation
If a crawlspace is damp, like this one was, the insulation will suffer. Once the insulation fills with water, it may as well not even be there. When insulation is wet, it loses all of its insulation value.
It's a Swamp Thing
The owners did not exaggerate when they described this home to us. The copious amounts of water in the crawlspace was causing the floor to turn almost completely into a swamp. There was no walking around in this mess without being extra careful.
Presenting CleanSpace
CleanSpace is one of the best products on the market today. Not only is it one of the thickest liners, but it is also the most versatile.
It Goes on the Walls
When we install CleanSpace, we usually like to take it up at least three inches along the wall. If the walls are leaking water, this protects the space from that moisture and separates the home from it as well.
SmartSump Installed!
We installed the SmartSump pump in the lowest area of the crawlspace. This insures that all of the water travels down towards it.
