Soaked Insulation in Crawlspace
Here is what the Specialist saw when he first went into the crawlspace. This is never something that anyone wants to see in their crawlspace, because it means that the insulation under the home has been soaking up moisture from the air. With as much water is in the insulation, this was not a new problem.
More Moisture in Crawlspace
This photo shows off even more of the crawlspace that had very high moisture levels. This photo gives a good look at how much moisture was in the crawlspace. There is "beading" along the sheet right below the floor joist. But that isn't all, the beads of water have actually begun to soak into the top of the wooden post on the right side of the photo.
Open Vents and Moisture in Crawlspace
Here is even more moisture that was found in the crawlspace. The moisture in the air had condensed on some ducting under the home, which shows that the moisture level was very high. There is also an open vent on the back wall, which we don't recommend, because then the outside air gets into the crawlspace and brings more moisture with it.
Maxed Out Moisture Meter
We don't usually include picture of the moisture meters that our Specialists use, but we couldn't help showing off this one. This photo shows a completely maxed out moisture meter, meaning that the joist that the prongs were in was completely saturated. This crawlspace needed our system installed as soon as possible.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is the first photo showing off the newly installed CleanSpace liner in this crawl space. The CleanSpace completely changes the look and function of the crawl space. CleanSpace is able to create a barrier and separate the crawlspace from the ground and outside of the home.
Excellent CleanSpace Installation by the Crew
This photo shows off the CleanSpace that was installed in this crawl space by the crew. The way that they install the CleanSpace is amazing and every crawl space that they go into ends up looking the exact same. They do a great job with following the curves and edges of the crawl space.
Another Photo of the Encapsulated Crawlspace
Here is another great photo of the CleanSpace that was put in this crawl space. This area was almost done, but the crew still had to tape the seam in the middle of the floor. This ensures that no moisture can get into the crawlspace through the seams of the rolls of CleanSpace. One of the most important parts of installation is ensuring that everything is properly sealed.
One Final View of the Encapsulated Crawl Space
There are never enough pictures of CleanSpace, but we have to stop somewhere! This last picture gives a pretty good view of the installed CleanSpace liner. Our crew did a great job at taking care of the water problems this homeowner was dealing with. They no longer have to worry about high moisture levels and mold growth in their crawlspace.
