Crawlspace with Old Crawlspace Liner
This photo shows the crawlspace when our System Design Specialist first visited the home. While it doesn't look to be in too rough of shape, this crawlspace had very high relative humidity levels. This issue may have tried to be fixed before with another liner, but it obviously did not do what it was intended to do.
Falling Insulation
This gives a pretty good look at one of the more obvious signs of water intrusion or high humidity levels, falling insulation. Insulation is very absorbent so when there is moisture in the air the insulation starts to soak it up. After awhile the insulation will begin to sag and fall down.
Mold on Floor Joist
Here is another obvious sign of high moisture levels in a crawlspace. Wood is another area in the crawlspace where moisture loves to go. Once these floor joists get wet, it gives mold a great opportunity to begin growing, which is exactly what happened in this crawlspace.
Homeowner's Old Sump Pump
Unfortunately, this is what we see a lot of times that we visit homes that have already had sump pumps installed. This is not the proper way for a sump pump to be installed. This leaves the water exposed to the basement, so that when the water evaporates, the relative humidity of the area will increase.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is the main part of the installation, the CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace helps to completely seal off the crawlspace from the outside. When installing, the crew makes sure to seal the CleanSpace up extremely well using a few different methods depending on what it is being sealed to.
Another Photo of the Installed CleanSpace Liner
This photo shows off how well the crew installs the CleanSpace liner along the wall. The crew does their best to follow the lines of the crawlspace and this can be seen is this photo, especially where the wall meets the floor. It is installed this way to help prevent the CleanSpace from being torn away from the wall or punctured easier.
Installed CleanSpace Liner and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
While this photo is a little dark, it shows off some more of the encapsulated crawlspace as well as the SaniDry Sedona that was also installed in the crawlspace. Each part of this system is very important to the success of it overall. While the CleanSpace seems to be the most important part, it wouldn't be as effective if it wasn't for the other products we installed as well.
Closer View of the SaniDry Sedona
While it is still difficult to see much, this picture gives a little better view of the SaniDry Sedona that was installed in the crawlspace. The dehumidifier is important to the system because it helps to keep the relative humidity level of the crawlspace under the point where mold is able to grow.
