Cracked Brick
This was one of the areas around the home that had some of the worst cracking. There is some minor stair-step cracking that goes from the right side of the photo, all of the way up to the top-middle part of the picture. Another small crack can be seen going almost horizontal from the left side of the photo to the middle. The most obvious damage in this photo is the huge crack in the bottom-left hand corner of the photo.
Cracked Wall From the Crawlspace
The foundation issues in this home were pretty significant, enough so that cracks had started to appear on the inside of the crawlspace. Fortunately enough, the push piers that were going to be installed would do an excellent job at supporting this foundation and close the crack.
Stair Step Crack Coming From Window
Here is another crack on the outside of the home. This is a very common area for cracks to form because around doors and windows, the wall is weaker. Since the wall is weaker in these areas, when foundation issues begin, they usually start from the corners of the doors and windows.
Fallen Insulation in Crawlspace
One of the most common signs of high humidity levels in a crawlspace is when the insulation begins to fall. This is because the insulation is extremely absorbent, like a sponge, and when they absorb the water from the air they get heavy and begin to fall. In this particular case, the insulation had to be completely removed.
Entrance to Crawlspace
This is the entrance to the crawlspace that was having troubles with water intrusion. While this door seems to be keeping the moisture out of the crawlspace, it does a poor job. It doesn't provide a proper seal, which will be solved when the EverLast door gets installed, which can be seen in a later photo!
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is the first look at the CleanSpace that was installed in the crawlspace of this home. The CleanSpace installed so that it fits snugly to the floors and walls of wherever it is installed. This helps to ensure that the CleanSpace is not easily pulled away from the wall or easily punctured or ripped (which is very difficult in the first place). It also helps to make the area look better.
Installed CleanSpace Liner and EverLast Door
This photo shows a more close up view of the installed CleanSpace as well as the EverLast Door that was installed. The CleanSpace is secured to the wall and is sealed up so that water cannot get out of the CleanSpace. The grey panel is actually an EverLast door, which creates an airtight seal around the entrance, which ensure that no outside air will come in through the crawlspace entrance.
Installed SmartSump Pump System
While each part of this system is important in its own way, this sump pump is one of the most important parts of the entire system. This is what removes the water from the crawlspace. The CleanSpace, drainage matting, and drain tile all help push the water towards the sump pump, where it can then be pumped outside and away from the home, never to be seen again!
SaniDry Sedona
Here is the dehumidifier that helps to keep the humidity level below the threshold where mold can grow. The Sedona may be small, but it can be used in large areas and still be just as efficient! This is another important piece of the system, because it makes sure that any moisture that does get into the crawlspace gets removed and the area stays dry.
EverLast Door
Here is the EverLast Door that was installed during this project. While it was mentioned in a previous picture, this one gives the view of the door from the outside. The door creates an airtight seal when it is closed, which makes sure that no moisture from the outside can get in through the entrance.
