Mold on Floor Joist
This is what several areas looked like in the crawlspace of this home. The wood is completely saturated with water, which not only weakens it but also makes it a great place for mold to grow, which is what happened here. Mold is never a good thing to find under your home and can cause several health problems, especially in children and the elderly.
Unencapsulated Crawlspace Floor
This is a wider view of the crawlspace without having any products installed. While there were definitely problem areas in this crawlspace, we were glad to find out that the majority of the floor joists were not nearly as wet as the ones in the first photo. The crew was also happy to have some room to move, as this is actually a relatively tall crawlspace.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is the crawlspace with our CleanSpace liner installed. The CleanSpace liner covers the entire floor of the crawlspace and even goes up the walls. We prefer to encapsulate the entire crawlspace because it ensures that there is almost no way for water vapor to get into the crawlspace.
Another Photo of the Encapsulated Crawlspace
Here is another photo showing off the encapsulated crawlspace. The photo shows how our crew wrap the piers in the crawlspace. We make sure to do this so that moisture doesn't get into the crawlspace through these areas either. Our job is to try and seal off the entire crawlspace from the outside world, letting as little water vapor into the crawlspace as possible.
