Crawlspace During Initial Inspection
This was the condition that the crawlspace was in when our System Design Specialist was conducting the free inspection. This crawlspace definitely had moisture problems, which can be seen with how damp the ground is. Fortunately this is something our Specialist knew could be fixed with just a little bit of work!
Another Pre-Installation Photo
Here is another picture of the crawlspace before any work was done to fix this homeowner's moisture problem. It isn't visible in this picture but right where the ground drops off before it gets to the wall is a small drop off. However, this height difference made most of the water in the crawlspace to flow down into it, creating an extremely wet area.
One Last View of the Unencapsulated Crawlspace
This last picture shows some wet ground in the corner of these walls, but there are also some spider webs. While we don't do any pest or insect control, CleanSpace does a great job at sealing out most of the "outside world". This helps to keep these pests out and away from the crawlspace.
Drainage Matting Laid Out
This photo shows the beginning of the installation of this homeowner's system. The CleanSpace Wall has been installed, and the drainage matting has been rolled out and cut. The biggest thing left to do at this point is to lay out the CleanSpace and secure and seal it. This can be seen in later photos.
Installed Drainage Matting
Here is another photo that shows the installed drainage matting in this crawlspace. Drainage mat helps to facilitate the flow of water under the CleanSpace liner. The water can easily flow under the drain mat to the sump pump that was installed. An added benefit of it is that it provides some cushion while moving around in the crawlspace.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is what the crawlspace looked like when everything had been installed. As you can see, the CleanSpace liner is installed so that it covers the entire floor and goes up the majority of the wall. This helps to prevent water vapor from getting into the crawlspace and increasing the humidity level, allowing mold to grow.
CleanSpace Encapsulation in Crawlspace
Here is the finished CleanSpace encapsulation in this crawlspace. As you can see, the CleanSpace covers just about every inch of the crawlspace. It is wrapped around the supports in the crawlspace and almost all of the way up the wall so that no water vapor can get into the crawlspace. These products all work together in order to keep water out of the crawlspace and protect your home from the problems that can come from it.
