Crawlspace Before Installation
Fortunately enough for this homeowner, he was not having many issues with moisture in the crawlspace. As you can see, the dirt in this area is pretty dry. However, you can also see how tight this crawlspace was, it certainly wasn't the shortest we've been in, but the "wings" of this crawlspace were significantly shorter than the main area.
Entrance to One of the "Wings"
The way this crawlspace was set up was a little different from most others. Instead of one large area, it had a main room that was tall (dug out), and it had a couple of "wings" that went off to the side which were significantly shorter.
Another Entrance to a "Wing"
Here is another one of the entrances to one of the "wings" of the crawlspace. As you can see, there is a quick drop off between the main room and the wing. This actually ending up being a good thing, because most of the water that made its way into the crawlspace was slowly draining to this middle room.
Clay in the Main Room
Here is the main part of the crawlspace, where the actual entrance from the outside is. While it is a darker photo, the light from the outside shows that there was some water in the soil under the home. It was not much, but it certainly was enough to began causing a strange smell throughout the home.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
This is the main room of the crawlspace, with the CleanSpace liner completely installed. CleanSpace does such a great job at completely changing the look and function of a crawlspace. Not only does it help to seal off the crawl space (and home) from the outside world, but many people use it for extra storage since it is somewhat climate controlled.
CleanSpace Installed in Main Room
Here is another view of the main room with the CleanSpace installed. As you can see, it is sealed as tightly to the wall as possible so that it is not as easily pulled off or away from the wall.
Taped CleanSpace Seam
This is what the seam between two sheets of CleanSpace looks like up close. Our crews make sure that there is some overlap between the sheets of CleanSpace and then uses our tape to make sure that they are completely sealed up and that no moisture or water vapor will get through.
