Debris in Crawlspace
This photo shows just how bad of shape the crawlspace was in when our Systems Design Specialist went under the home for the first time. As you can see, it is a complete mess. There are wires everywhere, other debris strewn around, and more importantly for our purposes is the fallen insulation. Fallen insulation usually means that moisture has soaked into it and brought it down.
Crawlspace Before Installation
Here is another photo of the crawlspace before the crew was able to install the CleanSpace liner. While it certainly was not the smallest crawlspace that we had been in, the duct work made navigating and installing much harder than normal! All of this debris had to be removed before the crew could lay out the CleanSpace.
Insulation Falling Down
We have seen insulation much worse than this crawlspace, but there was no doubt that the moisture in this crawlspace was starting to pull down the insulation. This is a very obvious sign that the relative humidity level of a crawlspace is much too high. In the end, the crew ended up removing the insulation under the home.
More Unencapsulated Crawlspace
Here is one last photo of the crawlspace without the CleanSpace installed in it. The closest piece of insulation to the camera seems to have some mold or mildew growing on part of it. This is why moisture in the crawlspace can be very dangerous, mold can cause health problems to anyone living in the home, especially if they already have pre-existing conditions like asthma.
First Look at the CleanSpace
This photo shows just how tight this crawlspace was by the duct work. You can see there was not too much room for the crew to get the CleanSpace Liner under the duct. Fortunately our crew was still able to install this system without too much trouble, and it still looks just like every other project we do!
Installed Dehmidifier and Sump Pump
There is a lot going on in this crawlspace, especially in this photo. The two main things that you see in this crawlspace are the dehumidifier and the SmartSump pump system. The dehumidifier helps to keep out any moisture that does make its way into the crawlspace. The SmartSump pumps out any and all water that drains down into it, and pumps it outside. This whole system is airtight, which keeps water from getting back into the crawlspace's air causing more damage.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
This picture was taken in one of the tighter areas of the crawlspace. This area was more difficult to work in because of just how short it was. However, our crew was still able to install it perfectly, just like any other job. You can also see where the crew had taken out the insulation, to keep any mold/mildew from spreading.
Last View of the CleanSpace
Here is one last view of the installed CleanSpace in this tight crawlspace. This photo also shows just how tight the crawlspace was and how the crew had to work around this obstacle. Fortunately, they know what they are doing and were able to knock it out pretty easily!
