Damage Done by Rodents
Most of the mess in here was caused by the rodents that were getting into the crawlspace. However, some of the insulation was falling down because of increased humidity level. So while the CleanSpace was mainly to try and keep the pests out, it was helping keep out some water.
Camel Crickets in the Crawlspace
Here are some of the creepy crawlies that had made a home under this owner's floorboards. Unfortunately for the homeowner, this was just a few of them.
Crawlspace Before CleanSpace was Installed
Here is another picture of the crawlspace before the CleanSpace was installed. As you can see, much of the insulation was either falling or had already fallen. Since most of it was already down, the crew pulled out the rest of the insulation.
Another Pre-Installation Picture
This photo shows just how bad this crawlspace was before our crew came in to install the CleanSpace. Removing the insulation was definitely a must because of how much of it was already torn up, fallen down, or soaked. Taking this insulation out helped to lower the humidity level because of the water that had soaked into the insulation.
Entrance for Insects
Sealed vents were a definite must for this homeowner because of how many insects were getting into this crawlspace. This was one of the main areas that these camel crickets were getting in and this vent was certainly sealed, for both insects and to keep air from getting into the crawlspace.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is what the final product looks like! This is our CleanSpace liner, which in this case was not only protecting the crawlspace from water intrusion, but more importantly for the homeowner, keeping the bugs out!
Entrance to the Crawlspace
Here is the entrance to the crawlspace, through a basement area. This is another reason why keeping the insects and rodents out was such a big deal for the homeowner, because if they were getting into the crawlspace, they could easily get through or past this entrance and into the main part of the home.
