Crawlspace without Encapsulation
This picture shows what the crawlspace looked like before our CleanSpace liner was installed. While there isn't a river flowing through the crawlspace, or any large pools of water, the relative humidity level of the crawlspace was much higher than it should have been. Much of this moisture was just coming from the soil.
Old Crawlspace Liner
Here is the old crawlspace liner that had been installed before we came to look at the problem. It is pretty obvious, but these liners do not do a great job in protecting the crawlspace. As you can see, there is dirt and grime all over the liner. This shows that it has not done the best job of keeping things out.
Previous Crawlspace Liner
Here is another view of the old liner that the homeowner had put in. In this area, there actually was water that was pooling on top of the liner, as you can see on the bottom of the picture. This is definitely not a great way to try and stop moisture from coming in, because when a DIY solution is used, it is almost never done correctly.
Evidence of Water Intrusion
Falling insulation is a very common sign of water intrusion, because of how absorbent insulation can be. When water vapor comes up through the soil and the humidity increases, the water seeks out a place to go, which is usually either the floor joists, or more commonly the insulation. When the water soaks into the insulation, it makes it heavy and begins to pull it down, which is exactly what has happened in this photo.
Installed Cleanspace Liner in Crawlspac
Here is the installed CleanSpace in the crawlspace. As you can see, this crawlspace has gone through a huge transformation by having our product installed. Not only does it look much better, but it also keeps water from getting into the crawlspace, so that this home can be healthy again.
Even CleanSpace'd the Door
Here is a photo showing the entrance to this crawlspace, a door! You don't see that very often in our line of work, but our crews love working in an area that they are able to stand up! But this homeowner wanted to really encapsulate their entire crawlspace, so not only did we cover the walls and floors, but the door as well!
More Installed CleanSpace Liner
The picture shows some more of the installed CleanSpace. This is actually the same area as the first picture, so you can go back and look at the difference that was made between this photo and the first one. The difference was pretty extreme just in a physical sense, but the benefits of having the CleanSpace go far beyond the aesthetics of the system.
Wide View of the Installed CleanSpace Liner
This picture shows a wide angle of the crawlspace with the CleanSpace Liner installed. As you can see, almost this entire crawlspace was covered in CleanSpace, which will keep the moisture out. On the very left hand side of the photo, you can also see the SaniDry CX dehumidifier that we installed in this crawlspace.
SaniDry CX Dehumidifier
Here is the dehumidifier that was installed in this crawlspace in order to keep the relative humidity level down. The dehumidifier that was installed was the SaniDry CX dehumidifier. It drains to a condensate pump, which is used to pump the water out of the area, so that the dehumidifier doesn't have to be emptied often.
