Lots of Mold in Crawlspace
This photo may give you the heebie jeebies if you're not a fan of mold. This was just one small section of this crawlspace that was completely covered in mold. It is difficult to actually see any of the wood because most of the boards are ridden with this mold.
More Mold in the Crawlspace
Here is another area of the crawlspace that also has much of the floor joists covered in mold. This was a very serious issue as this amount of mold could easily cause health problems with the occupants of the home. In order to rid the crawlspace of the mold, our crew went in with our Mold-X product, which cleans and kills the mold simultaneously.
Another View of the Infected Floor Joists
Here is one last view of the floor joists that have been infected by the mold. In future pictures, you can see how much of a difference that the Mold-X will make on these floor joists.
Fallen Insulation
One very common and obvious sign of moisture issues (besides the mold all over the floor joists) is falling insulation. This is because the water soaks into the insulation and weighs it down. The good thing about having your crawlspace encapsulated is that because you don't have any outside air flow coming in, more often than not you don't have to have any insulation. This is especially helpful in cases such as this (where everything is infected).
Encpasulated Crawlspace
Here is the finished product with the CleanSpace Liner already installed. Our crews always do a great job with wrapping and sealing up the CleanSpace around obstacles. In this picture, the water heater has been wrapped up tight. This helps to prevent any moisture from making its way into the crawlspace.
Another View of the Installed CleanSpace
Here is another picture that shows more of the finished and encapsulated crawlspace. This area is on the opposite side of the first few pictures, but is a great testament to how well our installers roll out, lay, and seal up the CleanSpace and CleanSpace Wall!
