Crawlspace Vapor Barrier | CleanSpace Liner Installation in Williamston, SC
Challenge
This homeowner needed help in restoring her crawlspace to its former glory, and even more! Our customer noticed her insulation falling from underneath her home, so she called on us to help. The moisture that was getting into the crawlspace was more than enough to start weighing down her insulation, which caused it to droop and eventually fall. This moisture can very easily lead to mold, and should be taken care of as soon as possible.
Solution
While it took some work, the homeowner's problem could be easily solved. We went for more of a full encapsulation approach. In this case, our crew first cleaned out the crawlspace and removed almost 900 square feet of insulation! The next part of the job was to start installing our products. We used drain tile and a SmartSump pump to get rid of any water that could accumulate . After that, the crew installed over 1,200 square feet of CleanSpace Liner and CleanSpace Wall. During this process, Silver Glo Insulation was also installed. Between the CleanSpace liner and our Insulation, this home's crawlspace is very protected from the elements.
But wait, there's more! The entrance to the crawlspace was definitely not properly sealed which you can see here. In order to fix this and really encapsulate the crawlspace, we installed an EverLast Door to really seal off the crawlspace from the outside world. The customer is ecstatic to know that her crawl space is moisture-free and protected!
