Water Intrusion and Efflorescence on Basement Wall
Here are some very clear signs of water intrusion in the basement of this home. Water can be seen dripping down the wall towards the right side and the homeowner had to place down towels to catch some of the water. Efflorescence, the white powder looking substance, can also be seen towards the left-hand side of the photo. These are the minerals that are left behind when the water evaporates off of the wall.
Moisture Meter on Basement Wall
While we rarely include the moisture meter readings, it helps to show the moisture content of different areas. The particular part of the wall was almost at 18%, which as the meter shows, is high. This is a great tool for our Specialists to actually show homeowners moisture content. It is especially useful with surfaces that may not look like they are very "wet".
Crack in Basement Wall
Here is one of the few cracks that the homeowner had noticed before calling All-Dry of the Carolinas. While this was a smaller crack, it was still important to make sure we took a look at it. Since this issue was caught so early, we were able to solve the problem with a much simpler solution!
Installed WaterGuard Drain
Here is the drain that was installed in the basement of the home in order to take care of the water intrusion. WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the area so that it catches the water at the wall, so the water won't stay in the basement.
More of the Installed WaterGuard
This basement was in definite need of a solution to the water intrusion issue that was plaguing the area. There are several water stains on the floor which indicates that water had been getting into the basement for quite awhile. The WaterGuard was installed along the back wall, as this was where the water was getting into the basement from.
Installed CarbonArmor Strips
CarbonArmor Strips are a great way to stabilize walls, especially when the wall is just beginning to show signs of failure/cracking. CarbonArmor helps to keep the wall in place and prevent it from bowing any further inwards, prevent wall failure.
Another Photo Showing Off the WaterGuard and CarbonArmor
This picture gives a pretty good look at the two main products that were installed in order to take care of the issues in the basement. The CarbonArmor strips went were installed around these two walls, as these had the brunt of the weight on them.
Installed SuperSump Plus Pump System
The SuperSump Plus is great because it comes with a powerful Zoeller pump that can handle a significant amount of water, but also has room for more pumps if needed or requested by the customer. This liner is completely airtight, which prevents water and moisture from getting back into the basement.
Installed IceGuard Drain Line
It is difficult to see from this angle, but this isn't just an ordinary drain line. At the very top of the drain line, where it begins to flare out, is our IceGuard drain line. This allows the sump pump to continue to pump water out of the basement without having to worry about the drain line freezing up and preventing the water from leaving.
LawnScape Drainage Outlet/Discharge
Here is where the discharge for the sump pump comes out. The LawnScape outlet is in between the two trees and maintains a low-profile. It may be hard to tell, but this was actually installed on a downhill slope so that the water would run even further away from the home, preventing the water from getting right back into the basement.
