Damage Done to Wall by Water Intrusion
This picture gives a pretty good idea why the owner wanted us to come out to the apartments and figure out what exactly was going on and how it could be fixed. The damage to the wall is pretty extensive, but our System Design Specialist knew exactly what needed to be done in order to keep this from continuing.
Outside of the Apartment Building
This shows off the situation that this building was in, and why it was having water intrusion issues. The wall wasn't just wet, but rather the water had began to soak through the wall. While this didn't help, the biggest issue was the water that was getting in towards the bottom of the wall, this was especially bad when it would rain, because most of this area was concrete with very few places for the water to runoff to.
Installed CleanSpace and WaterGuard
This shows off the system that was installed in this building in order to keep the water out of the area. The water still comes through the wall (it is extremely difficult to keep water from coming in long-term), but once inside it is immediately caught by the CleanSpace liner and then drains down to the WaterGuard and finally makes its way to the sump pump, where it is pumped away from the area.
Close Up of the Installed Products
Here is a closer picture of the CleanSpace and WaterGuard that were installed in this apartment. The CleanSpace goes about two feet up the wall in order to catch water coming into the apartment, which is then drained to the WaterGuard along the wall. The WaterGuard leaves a small gap between the floor and wall for the water to have a point of entry.
