Installed TrenchDrain
This is a very helpful product that we have here, called TrenchDrain. This is generally installed in front of doors that lead to the outside of the home, However, because this is a more vulnerable point in the basement, it was best to install one here. TrenchDrain is much more open and is able to handle a larger volume of water than WaterGuard.
Old Sump Pump System
This was the old sump pump that the homeowner had before we were able to come in and determine a better, more effective solution. One of the biggest problems with this is the hole that the sump sits in. Since it isn't sealed, the water that gets drained to the area, still can evaporate before it gets pumped out. Let's not even get started on how dangerous this is and how it looks.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
Here is the sump pump that was installed to help pump out the water getting into this basement. As you can see, this is a much better improvement than the one that the homeowner had previously. We were even able to cover up the nasty hole that the old sump pump was in!
Dug Out Drain and Sump Areas
Here is what was excavated from the area around the perimeter of the basement, as well as from the area where the sump pump was installed. All of this can be seen in the back of the photo. We do our very best to keep the areas we work as clean as possible, although this one took a little extra time to clean-up!
Installed WaterGuard Drain
Here is what the installed WaterGuard looks like, which isn't much. The WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard leaves a very small gap between the wall and the floor, where water can drain into. After the water makes its way into the WaterGuard, it drains to the new sump pump that we installed in the crawlspace.
Another Area with WaterGuard
Here is another area of the basement with the installed WaterGuard. The nice thing about WaterGuard is how low profile it is once installed. Once the concrete dries, it is completely unnoticeable, other than the very small gap that is left behind for the water to drain through.
WaterGuard Drain Along the Wall
Here is another photo showing the WaterGuard running the length of the wall. When this system is installed, it is generally around the entire area, unless there is no water intrusion in certain areas. This helps to make sure that no water is staying in the basement, and that it is all draining to the sump pump.
