Basement with Water Intrusion
This is a photo of one of the areas in the basement with a lot of water intrusion. One reason for the increased water intrusion is because of the door to the left of the picture doesn't seal very well and when it rains, water can easily slip through the cracks. WaterGuard will be installed all around the perimeter of this area.
Water Coming Through Basement Walls
Here is one of the reasons why this customer needed our help with their basement. This photo shows an area where water has been leaking through the basement floors and walls, drying up and leaving residue behind. For this much to be there, a lot of water has come through and evaporated into the basement, which is never good and could eventually cause health issues.
Another view of the Basement
This is the same area as the first picture, except a little more cleaned up. Now the area was ready for some work to be done! Our crew needs enough room to be able to work, chisel, and dig, so we do ask for homeowner to try and clean up/out the area the best that they can. This homeowner did a great job cleaning up his basement, so our crew could get straight to work!
Crawlspace Before Installation
While this was definitely more of a basement waterproofing job, there was some work that needed to be done in the crawlspace to help out with the waterproofing in the basement. This included installing a sump pump in the crawlspace for the WaterGuard to drain to. The water is then pumped from the sump to outside the home.
Close Up of Future Sump Pump Location
This is the area in the crawlspace where the sump pump was going to be installed. This area was of course cleaned up before the sump pump was installed, so that there was room for the sump pump and the gravel to be put in.
Installed Sump Pump
Here is the installed SmartSump pump that was installed to help with the basement drainage. The drain line can be seem coming out from the top of the sump pump liner and going off the right side of the picture. This line goes far enough away from the house that the water won't find its way back to the home. The gravel around the sump pump helps to keep sediment out of the pump so that it doesn't shut down, cause even more problems.
Installed WaterGuard
Here is the main product that we installed in this basement; WaterGuard. This is really what provides the most protection for the basement and more importantly homeowner. It leaves a very small gap between the wall and floor, this gap is just big enough to allow water to get into it, so that the water doesn't just sit on the floor and cause problems like before.
WaterGuard Installed Along the Wall
Another view of the WaterGuard that was installed in the basement. It is installed all of the way down the wall so that no water will make it to the basement floor to sit and cause problems. This is very important because if the WaterGuard isn't installed all the way down, it decreases the effectiveness of the system.
WaterGuard Installed in Around Corner
We are all the way back to start, this is the same corner that was shown in the first picture. This photo shows a little bit of the gap between the wall. The best area to see the gap is the bottom left of the picture and the middle right against the wall.
