Attached Dirt Crawlspace
Here is part of the attached crawlspace. The way that this home was set up is that they had a small concrete basement, with the rest of the home as a crawlspace. Here you can see an old, not effective liner.
Old Sump Pump
This picture really doesn't need much of a caption, but here's one anyway. This was the old sump pump, as you can tell; it wasn't pumping much water out any more. This sump pump was around half way full with sold mud/clay, essentially rendering it completely useless.
Stairs Leading to Basement
This was really a sight to see on the stairs. You can see on towards the bottom of the stairs there is some kind of moss growing on the last few steps. This is pretty impressive since it needs a pretty wet area to grow in, which means the bottom of the steps/basement was getting and keeping a lot of water.
Basement Floor Before Installation
This was another interesting sight. The basement floor was not just wet, it was soaked. So much water had come into the basement that it was soaking into the floor and then pooling up on top of it. You also have another good look at the moss growing on the stairs.
New SuperSump Sump Pump
Here is the new sump pump that we installed in the crawlspace. We installed it in the same area, however our sump pump is much better and because it is sealed, it won't have the same problem with all of that clay getting into it and rendering it completely useless.
Installed Waterguard
Here is the main thing that will keep the water from getting into this basement. This drain will catch any water that tries to come into the basement from this door and drain it off to the sump pump. As you can see, our crew also cleaned up the steps as well.
