Soaked Crawl Space Ground
This photo helps to show just how much moisture was in the crawlspace of this home. This shows a portion of the dirt in the crawl space that was completed saturated. This home was located in an area where they received a significant amount of rain, which certainly made the problem worse.
Soaked Floor Joist in Crawl Space
This was just one of many floor joists in the crawl space of the home that water had soaked through. While we see wet floors quite often, we hardly ever see floor joists that are this wet. This crawlspace had some very serious issues that needed to be addressed, so fortunately we had a solution for the homeowner!
Insulation in the Crawl Space
Here is a photo showing some of the insulation that was under this home. Insulation is usually one of the first things in a crawlspace that begins to soak up water. Insulation in a crawl space is almost like a sponge, just soaking up the water until it gets heavy, when it will eventually fall down.
Installed CleanSpace Liner
The CleanSpace that the crew installed under the home was done with great care, as always. The CleanSpace is installed in such a way that it follows the "curves" and shape of the crawlspace as best as possible. The helps to prevent the the CleanSpace from being pulled away from the wall and being punctured or damaged otherwise.
Another Photo of the CleanSpace and SmartJacks
This photo shows off the CleanSpace liner again, but also shows off another one of the products that we installed in the crawlspace. The CleanSpace is extremely important as far as keeping the moisture out of the crawlspace, but the SmartJacks were installed to provide support to the floor joists in the crawl space.
Another Photo of SmartJacks and CleanSpace Liner
Here are two more SmartJacks that were installed in the crawl space of this home. The damaged and soaked floor joists almost ensured that we were going to need to install SmartJacks to help support several areas throughout the crawl space. There were a total of six SmartJacks installed in the crawlspace.
Installed TripleSafe Liner with Remote WaterWatch Alarm
Since this was not a recurring issue that the homeowner was having, but more of a one time thing, this is what our System Design Specialist suggested for the homeowner to have installed. One of the coolest parts of this system is the Remote WaterWatch Alarm, which makes it accessible from the main level of the home if needed.
Installed SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
This was another important part of the system that our crew installed in this basement. While the CleanSpace does an excellent job of keeping the moisture out of the crawlspace, the dehumidifier helps to ensure that the humidity level stays at a low enough level where mold can't grow.
EverLast Door from Inside of Crawlspace
Here is the entrance to the crawlspace from the inside. The CleanSpace is installed all of the way up to the door to prevent as much moisture from getting in as possible. The gray panel is actually one of our EverLast doors which create an airtight seal preventing outside air from getting into the crawlspace.
Installed EverLast Door from the Outside
Here is the EverLast door that was shown off in the last photo, but from the outside of the home. This door even blended in well with the outside of this home, making it fit in well. While the EverLast doors don't come with handles already installed, we were able to do this per the customer's request, and we think it turned out great!
