Crack Under Basement Window
This is just one of the many cracks that had formed in the basement of this home. This is an extremely common place for cracks to form, because the wall is weaker around windows and doors. The cracks start at the edge of the window (or door) and will slowly make their way from there, depending on how long it takes for the problem be fixed.
Another Large Foundation Crack
Here is another one of the cracks in the basement wall that the homeowner was concerned with. While the crack in the picture before was on the inside of the home, this particular crack was actually on the outside of the home. This goes to show that, again, this was not just a small problem, but rather something that the homeowner had to get taken care of as soon as possible.
Crack Forming Between Wall and Chimney
This picture gives even more insight into the serious foundation issues that were plaguing this home. Not only were cracks forming both inside and outside of the basement, but the chimney had also began to pull away from the wall. Fortunately for this homeowner, we were able to use the same product for all of the foundation issues.
Crack During Push Pier Installation
This is one of the cracks on the outside of the home while the push piers were being installed and the foundation being raised. It still has a little ways to go, but you can actually see there was quite a bit of movement of the wall. This can be seen in the duct tape that spans the crack, it has raised quite a bit, which shows that the wall has definitely gotten closer.
Installed Push Pier
This is one of the push piers after it was installed and the piers had been driven deep until a solid surface was reached. Reaching that solid level is key because it essentially allows the weight of the home to be transferred from the softer, less stable ground to the much more stable and solid base.
Several Push Piers Being Installed
Push piers are all raised at roughly the same rate so that the foundation is moved at about the same pace. This process was headed by our crew foreman who has well over a decade installing foundation repair systems and products. He knows the ins and outs of these products and when raising the push piers, does it with expertise.
Outside Area After Installation
This was one of the areas where the push piers were installed after the crew had already raised the foundation. Our crews do their best in order to leave as little mess as possible and try to make it look like we were never there. In this case, to install the push piers they crew had to remove some of the concrete near the home. After the crew was done installing the push piers, they mixed concrete and covered these areas to make them look brand new.
Fixed Outdoor Cracks
These are two of the cracks that the crew was able to close up with the push piers that were installed on the outside of the home. The cracks look dark because after the push piers bring them closer together, the crew goes back and fills in the cracks. This helps to create a better seal over the cracks.
