Old Crawlspace Liner
Here was the liner that the homeowner had installed previously to our work being done. As you can see, this liner was not doing too great of a job in separating the crawlspace from the outside. The fact that the liner is almost completely covered in dried mud, shows that this liner wasn't doing what it was meant to. This is mainly because this liner was not properly sealed to the wall.
Small Pools of Water
While this is not the best picture, it does show some of the pools of water under the home. This was one of our main concerns when we were working under the home. Fortunately, this was a problem that we were able to address relatively easily, with our CleanSpace and dehumidifier.
Another View of the Unencapsulated Crawlspace
As mentioned in the previous photos, this old liner was not helping out at all. There was still a huge amount of debris and dirt that was able to get above the liner. So if this much solid material was able to get on top of the liner, just imagine how much liquid and gas (water vapor) was able to get into the crawlspace.
Another Angle of Old Liner
This was actually quite a large crawlspace, in total it was just shy of 2,000 square feet. That was probably the hardest part of the job, just having a huge amount of area to cover. However, back to the issue at hand, the area still did not get any better. The liner here still wasn't able to keep the dirt and other debris from coming in.
Close Up Around Water Heater
This was actually a pretty well-done job around the water heater, except that the liner goes under the water heater, rather than around it. This way we don't have to worry about lifting the water heater or worry about tearing our CleanSpace liner when moving the heater around!
Installed CleanSpace Liner
Here is the finished product! Our CleanSpace liner is a huge improvement on the old crawlspace liner that was in the basement. Not only does CleanSpace look much better, but it actually works better too. The way that our crews are trained to install it is pretty specific and makes sure that as little moisture can get through the seems as possible.
CleanSpace Around Water Heater
Here is a picture that shows how All-Dry of the Carolinas installs our crawlspace liner around a water heater. Unlike the other photo, you can see that the CleanSpace is cut out around the water heater so that the seam can be taped over, which makes sure the seal is perfect. This helps to keep out as much moisture as possible.
Installed CleanSpace and Dehumidifer
Here is another photo showing off the installed CleanSpace liner, however we won't go on anymore on how great it is! The real star of this crawlspace was a SaniDry CX dehumidifier, which helps to keep the relative humidity level of the crawlspace to a reasonable level (a level at which mold cannot grow).
