Damp Basement Walls
This basement had a lot of water that was soaking through the walls. If it wasn't already obvious enough, the dark areas of the wall are where the water was coming through, while the lighter areas are where the the water hasn't soaked through yet. As you can see, the water has penetrated most of this basement wall.
Another View of Damp Wall
Here is another view of the damp basement wall, however this area was much less wet. Fortunately most of the basement had about this much water on the walls, or even less! This was important because if the entire basement walls had as much water as the first picture, then more drastic measures would have been taken in this basement.
Basement Before BrightWall Installation
In this area of the basement there is not any dampness on the walls, which is an even better sign, as each photo seems to have less and less water. Since the problem wasn't as severe as we first thought, we were able to tone down the proposed solution to an easier, but still effective solution.
Installed BrightWall Around Basement Door
Here is some of the BrightWall that was installed in this basement. This is a relatively cheap and effective solution to help waterproof a basement while making it look better/cleaner at the same time. BrightWall paneling is an inorganic product meaning that the water won't soak through it and ruin the wall.
Another View of Installed BrightWall
Here is another view of the installed BrightWall in the basement of the home. This product really does make a difference in a basement by making it look cleaner and more like a finished basement, as well as helping to keep water vapor from getting into the crawlspace. This can cause problems with smell and mold problems if not taken care. Water vapor will condense and begin to stick to organic materials, giving mold a place to easily grow.
BrightWall Installed Around Basement Window
Here is another view of the BrightWall that was installed in the basement of this home. These are large plastic panels that are fastened into the wall and can be cut to fit around certain obstacles in the basement. As you can see in this basement, there was a window that needed to be worked around.
BrightWall Behind Wires and Pipes
Our jobs aren't always easy, but they are almost always possible! This photo here is a testament to this saying. There were several pipes, wires, and outlets in this particular area. As you can see, the BrightWall panels were able to be installed efficiently, without too much of a fuss, and still installed expertly. All of the wires, pipes, and outlets were worked around and cut of where they needed to be in the panels. This provides better protection for the entire basement.
