Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Swannanoa, NC

This album will show off pictures from a job that we completed in Swannanoa. This home's crawlspace had a lot of moisture and water in their crawlspace. The album shows pictures from our initial inspection, to the completed project.

Moist ground under the home

This picture shows part of the crawlspace under the old liner that the homeowner installed. Unfortunately, it is very obvious that this liner was not able to do the job properly. The clay under this home has been soaked through and has begun to dry (the cracks in the clay show this).

Unencapsulated Crawlspace with Old Liner

While there is no obvious "damage" in this picture, the old liner can be seen here. While it looks like it may be protecting this crawlspace, it most definitely is not. This biggest part, is that it is not sealed correctly to the walls, but another problem is that there a rips and tears in this liner. The most obvious one can been seen in the bottom left part of this picture.

Here is another angle of the crawlspace before any products were installed. In this photo, condensation can actually be seen under the old crawlspace liner. This is a great example of how when water gets into a crawlspace, it evaporates until it attaches to something, which is usually duct-work, insulation, and floor joists.

Soaked Ground in Crawlspace

This photo gives a great look at this crawlspace and just how much water it had in it. The entire strip of clay in this photo is completely soaked. This is the main reason why this customer needed us to come out and install our products. Moisture as much as this is bound to cause mold and mildew problems sooner, rather than later.

Installed CleanSpace Liner

Here is the finished product! The CleanSpace liner has been installed, and the moisture will be kept out of the crawlspace. Any "leftover" moisture will promptly be taken out of the air and drained to the sump pump.

Expertly Installed CleanSpace Liner

This picture shows the installed CleanSpace Liner, the liner has been laid so well and extremely tight against the walls and columns. It is incredible that even with very little room to work, the crews are skilled and careful enough to always give their best effort.

Here is another view of the installed CleanSpace Liner. This picture is a wider view and shows off a good portion of the crawlspace. Fortunately, this homeowner did not have any mold problems yet and were able to keep their insulation.

Installed Sump Pump

Here is the sump pump that was installed in this crawlspace. The sump pump that was installed was the SuperSump. This pump keeps the water from staying in the crawlspace, as it pumps the water outside the home to a place where the water will not drain back towards the home.
