Crawlspace Encapsulation in Marshall, NC
Challenge
This home presented our crew with several problems. It was a pretty simple crawlspace job, mainly just needing to install our CleanSpace liner and a dehumidifier. The first issue that we ran into was the mold. It was not as overwhelming as some homes that we have been into, but there was a lot of it in the crawlspace. While mold is never a fun issue to deal with, it is definitely something we can take care of relatively easily
However, the real issue in this crawlspace was the clearance, which was going to be a huge hindrance to our team. Now, we are under no impression that crawl spaces are spacious areas to picnic under, but this crawlspace was hardly tall enough to belly crawl in. Luckily, most of our guys are used to these confined spaces, as claustrophobia is basically a part of the job description.
Solution
The solution was similar to every other CleanSpace job that we do here at All-Dry, with just a little less room. Having such a small area was definitely an inconvenience to the crew, but nothing that they were not able to overcome. It caused them to take a little more time in rolling out and securing the liner, but it was not much more than that.
The crew first started by laying out the drain matting for any water to drain out. After the drain mat was installed, our crew made their way through the crawlspace laying out the CleanSpace Liner. Belly crawling and pushing the liner out in front of them they finally got to the back walls, where there could secure the liner. The crew finished the job by installing the SantaFe Edge II dehumidifier. This dehumidifier does a great job on keeping the humidity level of the crawlspace in check.
